1. WILLIAM WESLEY 1 EAGER was born August 05, 1855 in Madoc Canada, and died June 30, 1922. He married CATHERINE KELLER. She was born February 08, 1865 in Elzevia, and died February 11, 1955 in (9:15 PM).

Notes for ETHEL EAGER: Ethel and Beatrice died in a house fire at the home of their aunt and uncle, Andrew and Annetta (Keller) Eager. Andrew was William's brother and Annetta, or Nettie, was Catherine's sister). It's quite a long story and I have one version copied from the original Tweed newspaper. The girls spent the day with one of their Keller uncles, Daniel, I think, who then dropped them off at the Andrew Eager home for the night. After the evening meal, Nettie put the girls and her 2 sons to bed, made certain the kitchen fire was out, and went to sit with a sick neighbor. She came home later in the evening to check on the children then went back to the neighbor's. In the middle of the night someone spotted the fire and called the alarm. Nettie (I don't know where Andrew was) rushed to the home, ran through the flames and was able to toss one of her son's out of the second story window. Her other son had already jumped out. She tried to reach the girls in another room but was overcome by smoke and flames. She managed to get out of the window and tried to rush back in again but the fire was too intense and neighbors would not allow her back in. Nettie was badly burned. The next morning a journalist went to visit Nettie and found Catherine Eager sitting outside her room. He saw Nettie and talked to the doctor who was uncertain if she would ever heal from her injuries. He then viewed the bodies of the two little girls who were unrecognizable. A plea was put out for donations for the Andrew Eager family who had lost everything. The speculation was that ruffians had started the fire when they entered the house looking for food.
