Notes for BLANCHE HASKIN: Obit state that Blanche L. Jackson of Bates Hollow passed away at the Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill on April 27, 1997. She was born in Bates, New York on February 20, 1903, daughter of the late Smith and Flora(Engle) Haskin. Blanche and her husband, the late Edgar Jackson were lifelong dairy farmers. She was the last living member of the Bates Church, was very active in the W.C.T.U. and had been writing news articles for Bates Hollow for several local papers since 1948. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Ann Jackson of Preston Hollow; three grandchildren, Gail Anne Nodine, Patricia Hatami and her husband Bahman and Kermit Jackson and his wife Lise; also her great-grandchildren Vanessa Nodine, Amana and Michelle Ann Jackson and Aryana Hatami. She was also pre-deceased by her son Kermit Jackson; two brothers, Raymond and Leslie Haskin and a sister, Anita Teator. Funeral service with the Rev.
