1. RALPH1 PIERCE was born April 29, 1822 in Middleburgh, NY, and died
February 25, 1915 in Lutheran Cemetery, Schoharie. He married (2) MARIA CATHERINE
OLIVER December 25, 1844, daughter of WILLIAM OLIVER and MARIA SNYDER. She was
born December 06, 1824 in bp.Feb.6, 1826, St.Paul's Luth CH, Scho.NY, and died
June 14, 1907 in Lutheran Cemetery, Schoharie.
Notes for RALPH PIERCE: In the book "Military Records of Schoharie County
Veterans of Four Wars" by George H. Warner, published in 1891, in the section
of the War of the Rebellion, it says; Ralph Pierce. Middleburgh. Farmer; married;
age 38; enlisted November 4, 1861; wounded at Gainesville, Va. by gunshot entering
right hip and coming out at the knee; treated at Mount Pleasant Hospital, Washington,
for a year and transferred as nurse to the Division Hospital of First Corps,
to which his regiment belonged; served in that capacity until the expiration
of his term of enlistment, December 1, 1864; Middleburg, NY; farmer. Children,
Mary(wife), William, John, Peter, Rebecca, Nehemiah, Hezekiah, Annie. In Ralph
Pierce's pension papers NY 76th Vol of NY it states he also served as a cook
and ambulance driver as well as nurse - every quarter the tasks changed. Ralph's
occupation was listed as a stone mason in Kitty Pierce's research. Ralph and
Mariah were married by Henry R. Briggs, JP. In "Burials in the Stone Fort Cemetery
at Schoharie, NY" by Frank D. Andrews, 1917. P. 19 Under Mix Section - William

Notes for WILLIAM PIERCE: There are several newspaper articles written about
William and his time during the Civil War. In addition there is a book " Military
Records of Schoharie County Veterans of Four Wars" and in the section War of
the Rebellion it says: William Pierce. Middleburg. Farmer; single; age 15; enlisted
March 7, 1864 under the assumed name of Borst; to avoid being found by his father;
was wounded by gunshot through front to left side of lower jaw, at Spottsylvania,
and by bayonet through calf of right leg; treated at McClellan Hospital; from
there furloughed home and discharged July 14, 1865; Middleburg, NY; farmer;
married. Children, Franklin, Areneda, Charles, Maria, Peter, Jacob.

Notes for NANCY JANE JENKS: Bob Jenks pointed out some previous errors and
told me to review : "The Jenks Ancestry" by Browne 1952 I pulled out the old
folder of Florence Trzepacz and low and behold copies of pages pertaining to
the above book. Also the original Family Register of Asaneth and Otis Jenks
that had to be shown to the Pension Records of 1913. Civil War Pension was being
sought by one of the children that fought in that war. This document has an
issue date of 1848 and was put out by Currier and Ives. It is tattered but the
colors are still fresh in the scenes on the top of this document.

Notes for JACOB ECKERSON: In the book "Military Records of Schoharie County
Veterans of Four Wars" by George H. Warner, published in 1891, in the section
of the War of the Rebellion, it says: Jacob Eckerson. Schoharie - Citizen; single;
age 16; enlisted December 19, 1863;34th battery, 3rd Artillery light Battery
K, joined his battery at Newberne, and served in its movements to Bermuda Hundred,
Yorktown, Newport News, City Point, Spring Hill, Petersburg, Fort Harrison and
Richmond, where he was discharged, June 30, 1865; PO Middleburg; farmer; married.
Children, Mary, Jennie, William(name misread-should me Millie), Elsie, Mabel,
Ellsworth.
